JG Rocket Band, situated in the DFW area, is a dynamic music group that showcases a diverse range of artists, from Tennessee Ernie Ford to Rolling Stones and beyond. With a focus on audience preferences, we tailor our music to create an unforgettable experience. Our journey started in the local scene, and now we are ready to share our music with a broader audience, bringing joy and entertainment to all.
How It All Started
About the J.G. Rocket Band​
The J.G. Rocket Band was founded by guitarist John Gloria in the vibrant music scene of 1980s Hawaii. What began as a personal passion project quickly evolved into a full-fledged band known for its dynamic performances and wide-ranging musical repertoire. John’s deep love for classic country and rock—particularly the hits of the 70s through the 90s—became the backbone of the band’s signature sound. While the group plays a little bit of everything, their heartfelt tributes to legendary artists always resonate with audiences of all ages.
Over the years, the J.G. Rocket Band has built an impressive resume, headlining iconic venues such as the world-famous Palomino Club during its golden era, The Stagecoach in Orange County, and The Franciscan. They’ve shared stages with big names like Tennessee Ernie Ford and Flock of Seagulls, and their rendition of “Sundown” was even featured in the opening credits of the Innocent Killers movie trilogy. Known for their ability to cover a wide range of styles—from Tennessee Ernie Ford to The Rolling Stones—the band has played across numerous states and even internationally. Today, the J.G. Rocket Band is excited to bring their high-energy performances to North Texas, playing at venues, festivals, and private events across the region.
John has been playing guitar for 40+ years. While in Hawaii, in 1980 he started the J. G. Rocket band. He has played along side top acts like Tennessee Ernie Ford, Flock of Seagulls, and headlined at the world famous Palomino Club at the height of its heyday, as well as at places such as The Stagecoach in Orange Co., and The Franciscan.
John is also available to perform solo gigs, if you are looking for a single musician to play at your event or venue.

Terry is an experienced musician, known for his engaging performances that blend solo work, band experiences, and sing-along piano. After years of touring the western U.S., he made North Texas his home in 1994 and now shares his time between the vibrant Dallas/Fort Worth area and beautiful Colorado. With a diverse repertoire, Terry offers a wide range of musical styles—from soothing cocktail piano and vocals to lively country tunes and energetic sing-alongs. He also showcases his versatility through unique formats, playing multiple styles from New Orleans to Irish, on the piano and harmonica.
Andrew was born and raised Joliet, Illinois. At about age four, he became interested in music and started making up chords and simple tunes on the family piano. After picking up the bass at eighteen he was inspired by the improvisation skills by such bassists as Donald "Duck" Dunn and Benny Turner. Andrew has been playing the bass with the JG Rocket band for two years and counting.
